PLAYOFF INFORMATION

2011-FALL

If your team cannot field a team for the playoffs please inform the office.

A team failing to appear for their first game without notification

may be subject to playoff elimination.

 

  • Home team will be determined by higher place finish in division

First round only-(if teams are equal then coin flip).

  • 12 run rule after 5 innings.
  • Any ejected player is out for the remainder of the playoffs.
  • Any protest must be settled immediately. In the event of a protest all members must remain on the field until the dispute is settled. The Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner or their representative will make the final decision. No appeal will be possible. No protest will be accepted after the completion of the game.
  • Random roster checks may be carried out by the Commissioner and/or his representative. Any challenge by the opposition regarding player eligibility must be challenged prior to the end of the game. Roster challenges will not be accepted after the completion of the game.
  • Legible printed information, including driver license numbers, are required on line up cards.
  • 5-minute grace time on all games – time will be taken off the clock.  The umpire’s watch is the official time.
  • International tie - breaker will be used (if necessary).

           This will apply if after 7 innings or time has expired.

           There will be two umpires per game.

           If one does not show, the game will be played with one umpire.

  • Players with pending ejections must meet with the Commissioner or WCASI representative  to determine playoff eligibility.
  • No changes in the playoff schedule will be made due to conflicts with other teams, leagues or tournaments.
  • Use of an illegal player will result in team disqualification for the remainder of the playoffs. Use of an ineligible player may result in forfeiture of the game.
  • Games will be 7 innings or 1 hour and 5 minute time limit. No new inning will begin after 60 minutes-any inning started will be played to completion.
  • All games will have a 12 run rule after 5 innings
  • The last two numerical games (championship and “if”) will be 7 innings-no time limit. There will be a 12 run rule in those games. 

 

In the event the lights go off during a game, or any other unusual circumstances occur that prevent the game from being completed on the same day, the following will apply:

 

  • If at least 45 minutes have been played in the game, the score will revert back to the completion of the previous inning in which one team had a lead; or
  • If less than 45 minutes have been played in the game, the Commissioner, Assistant or representative may reschedule the game to another time and/or date at the convenience of the league.

1.Head to head

2.Run differential (between the two head to head)

3.Total runs scored for the season against all opponents
